The 3rd best sound in the world!!

This morning Piper and I were out in the kitchen and all of sudden she goes "momma"!!! I couldn't believe it, I was overwhelmed with tears, it just melted my heart!!! The only other sound that was better was when she cried for the 1st time the day she was born and the day I made her laugh out loud for the 1st time!!!! My sweet baby girl is growing soo fast, next week she will be 8 months old! She is crawling, walks holding your fingers, feeds herself, says momma, dada and uh oh!! She is just the most amazing little girl and I am just soo blessed to be her mom and despite not sleeping for 10 days while we fought off this nasty virus, there is nothing else I would rather be doing or love as much as being a mother!!!

This spring Kurt and his dad Ed decided to plant pumpkins in our garden, so this year for her 1st Halloween Piper had her very own home grown pumpkin!! We ended up with about 20 pumpkins, give or take. We invited grammie Jill and poppi Bill over when we carved Piper's 1st jack o' latern. Kurt did a great job and Piper had a good time watching him and loved playing in the pumpkin guts!!! Now her pumpkin is sitting on our front porch and hopefully one of these nights we will remember to light the darn thing again!!! Happy 1st Halloween Piper Joyce!!!

I know I'm way behind on the updating, we've been soo busy with work, Piper turning 6 months old and Kurt turning 30!! Piper weighs 18lbs 30z and is 26 3/4 inches long. She keeps us laughing and smiling all the time, and as you can see we will now be a family of movers and shakers!!! Time to buy some baby gates, although daddy says he's going to make them, by the time he gets them done Piper will be 18 and they will no longer be needed!!! (hehe)

Just a few recent pics of sweet, little baby girl. I've soo enjoyed being home with my little one for the last 5 months and now I must head back to work. I know it will be good for both her and I and I'm excited about my new job, plus if I really push my boss we can get the infant/toddler room going and then I can take Miss Piper Joyce to work with me!!!! Now we are making the most of our last 2 days home together!!! ahh a girl and her kitty!!! (although I think this could be the show down to determine who is the queen of house, sorry kitty you lose!!)

We have been soo busy this last month, the time has just flown by, I would like to say that now that summer is coming to an end things will slow down but unfortunately that isn't the case. I have just accepted a new job offer at a preschool/daycare center. I will be working a 40+hr week and have given up all the vacations and snowdays that come with a regular teaching job, not by choice. The job opppurtunties for elementary teachers around here suck so I was forced to take whatever job I could find. Everyone says it will get easier to leave my baby and that it will be good for both of us but today leaving my friend Veronica's house after our visit and the realization hit me that in a 1 1/2 weeks I will be leaving my baby there 5 days a week for most of the day had me balling my eyes out all the way home. Maybe I'm just not met to work, maybe I'm supposed to stay home have babies, do the housework and fix the hubby dinner. We'll see how this goes, I'm already broken hearted just thinking about it. This past Wednesday my sweet little chunker munker turned 5 months old!!! She weighs 17lb 8oz and is 26 in. long!!!! She is growing like crazy. She has started eating baby food too, she has her cereal at night with some fruit and 1/2 jar of veggies at lunch and the rest at dinner. She would probably try to eat off our plates too is she could reach them. She has discovered her toes and they are her new favorite play thing!! Last Thursday Piper has her 1st accident and mommy had her 1st heart attack, in the mornings Piper always sleeps in her swing, while mommy was getting ready Piper decided she had enough of the swing and decided to get out, mommy found her crying on the floor under the swing!!!!! After the intitial shock and sudden urge to puke, I picked her up and she stopped crying and smiled at me! She's fine and is now locked down whenever she's in her swing!!! We are looking forward to making the most of the last week of our summer vacation!!!

A Special Day

On Saturday night, July 31st, we had Piper Joyce baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church in Vernon. Our parents, grandparents, Godparents and brothers and sisters came out to celebrate with us. Piper was an angel in church and she didn't even cry or get upset when Deacon Niles poured the water on her head. Everyone came back to our house for pizza and cake after. We had such a great time and the party went off without a hitch! These are just a few photos from Piper's special day!

Whata week of Firsts!!!

What an amazing week of firsts it has been for miss Piper!!! On Friday, July 16th Piper has her first taste of cereal. She wasn't so sure about it and after about 3 tastes she had had enough and got really mad, I mean really mad!!! Then Sunday, July 18th, she rolled over for the first time!! I was the only one who saw her, her daddy had run down to his dad's for a minute, we had been watching her all afternoon and she got soo close numerous times but waited for her daddy to leave before she would actually roll over. On Friday, July 23rd, she had her 4 month check up, she is doing great and now weighs 15lb 8oz and is 25 inches long, watch out cousin Rylee she is catching up fast!!! The shots this month were not so great and have left a small red welt on each leg, I have been watching her closely and she is doing better now and the welts have almost disappeared. On Saturday, July 24th, we took Piper on her first road trip to visit gramma and grandpa K and Aunt Rachel, Aunt Laura and Aunt Becca up at camp at Nick's Lake. Piper did soo great on the ride up, especially after daddy had to make so many stops to pick up supplies for grandpa. We had a good time up at camp and are looking forward to next year when Piper is a little bigger and we can spend the night. This is going to be come a yearly tradition to take Piper to camp (she was with us last year when we went but only Kurt and I knew hehe). On Sunday July 25th, I made Piper laugh out loud for the first time!! It was so funny and am looking forward to hearing this baby laugh all the time. I just love her soo much and am so blessed to be able to stay home with her this summer and witness her amazing accomplishments!! Ohh I almost forgot I knew there was another first, on Saturday, July 17th, I went with grammie and Poppi and unkie gogo and took Piper to her first parade!!! Her daddy and grandpa Ed were in Camden's parade for the Fireman's Field Days that was doing on that weekend. Grandpa Ed drove his proprane truck in the parade and daddy threw candy out!! Piper loved the parade and didn't even get scared or cry when the firetrucks beeped their horns!!

Sum, Sum, Summertime!!!!

Wow, what a busy start to summer we've had!! Piper turned 3 months old and is actually almost 4 months old now. She estimate she weighs about 14lbs and is about 24in long!!! We celebrate our first 4th of July with her and she is getting to know the way to grammie Jill's very well. We have had a lot of really hot weather the last week or so and we have been spending alot of time up there in the central air and out by the pool. Today was the 1st day that we dipped her toes in, it had been a couple days since mom put any chlorine in the pool and the water had warmed up to 80 degrees!!!! Piper has been growing like crazy, she jabbers all the time, has discovered her knees, loves to chew on her fists and her thumb (could care less about her binky), and last night spent most of her floor time laying her side, it's only a matter of time before she rolls her chunky little but over and I'm in trouble!!!! I've been soo blessed that I've been able to extend my unemployment benefits into the summer so far, and it has allowed me some precious time home with Piper to watch her grow!!!! I will be sad when September comes and I have to find a job and start working again, unless we win the lottery, maybe I should buy a ticket huh?? On Friday night she even started sleeping in her crib in her own room and has been doing a great job, last night she slept from 10pm to 7am, I think the heat is helping to tire her out though!!!! I'm looking forward to the rest of this month and next month to spend as much summer fun time with my baby girl and our families as possible!!!!

Father's Day weekend

What a great weekend we had!!!! On Friday my sis Britt and I took the kids to school to have lunch with grammie, she loved and the kids had a great time too!!!! Then we spent the afternoon by the pool, except mommy forgot Pipey's bathing suit so she had to just chill in her seat while her cousins splashed around!!!! I went right home and put her bathing suit in her diaper bag and grammie bought her a little blow up pool to play in the next time it's hot until the big pool warms up more (it's only 70)), that didn't stop cousins Carter or Rylee from splashin' around though!!!! On Saturday the whole family traveled back to Camden so daddy could help Poppi and Uncle Ryan fix this guys roof, we stayed for lunch then headed back home because we had to be back in Camden bright and early Sunday morning for Father's Day breakfast with Poppi and the whole family!!!! The cousins had such a great time playing together!!!! It's going to be sooo great watching them grow up together!!! Later Sunday afternoon we came home so daddy could watch some of the race, then we headed over the gramma and grandpa K's to see grandpa for his father's day!!! We had such a great weekend, can't wait til school's over so we can spend time with the family during the week too!!!! daddy and Piper, daddy was spoiled for father's day, he got some Budweiser glasses, 2 new coffee travel mugs, info on how to grow his own hops (he wants to make his own beer) and a little knick knack from Pipey that says "I love daddy!!!" She sure does!!!! (daddy made out better than mommy did)

Busy, busy, busy!!!!

So much has been going on this last month or so that this is the first chance I've had to update on the latest happenings!!! Piper is just growing soo fast, she just amazes me everyday! She is jabbering and smiling and working very hard towards rolling over. I just can't believe how much of a personality she is developing, I think she's going to look like her daddy but could possibly end up with my temper (not sure yet if that's good or bad)! Piper had her 2 month check up on Friday, June 4th and now weighs 12lb 3oz and is 23 1/2 inches long!!!! She has reached all of her 2 month developmental markers and quite a few of the 3 month markers as well, she is such a determined little girl!!!! She loves to swing in her swing and is now loving her bouncy vibrating chair too. She has also discovered the tv, she can't see the pictures yet just blurry movements according to the dr, but it keeps her from fussing and she loves to jabber at it (gets that from her daddy), so despite what her daddy says, I say a few minutes while I go to the bathroom or fix dinner won't hurt, she doesn't spend countless hours in front of it!!!! This month Piper also had her 1st overnight stay and grammie and poppi's while mommy and daddy went to daddy's cousin Heather's wedding. She had a great job and was very well behaved. Mommy got a little teary eyed when she 1st left and I think daddy did too, but I can't say for sure because he disappeared down the hall and then down to the basement. We had a great night now, I had too much to drink but lots of fun, I haven't let loose like that since Kurt and I got married and it felt good to be a little crazy, though we were both very glad to have Piper home the next day, we missed her soo much!! 2 months old,.. say it isn't so

Can't believe my baby is 2 months old already, I swear I waited forever to start showing when I was pregnant, and waited to first feel her move, and we waited to find out if baby was a boy or a girl and we had to wait for her to be born, ( 3 days past her due date!!) and now I wish time would wait just a little so I had more time to enjoy her being a baby!!! Piper's big accomplishments this month have been becoming a jabber jaw, pushing herself around with her feet, which now explains why I find her rotated 180 degrees from the way I put her to bed, and the other night she rolled onto her belly, with some assistance from the couch!!! She has her poppi completely wrapped around her little finger, and loves to make her poppi and her grammie fight over who gets to hold her (even her uncle gogo is wrapped)!! It's amazing the difference in my brother Jeremy since Piper has been born, she loves being an uncle and even told me he missed a few weeks ago and that I needed to come back up and visit, apparently seeing us once a week isn't enough!!!! These are just a few of my favorite pictures from the past month!!! On Friday, June 4th we have her 2 month check up, not looking forward to the shots, but looking forward to seeing how much my baby girl has grown since April!!!! If the scale at my mom's was right yesterday baby girl weighs almost 12 lbs!!!!!! I'll be sure to update next week on much she has grown!!!!!

Date Night!!!!!

Tonight my hubby is taking me out on a date for my Mother's Day!!! We get to see a movie for the first time in I can't tell you when and after he's taking me out to dinner. My mom and dad offered to babysit for Piper while we go out. Piper and I spent the day today with my mom and my sis in law and my niece Rylee and mom just dropped me off at home and is driven off with my baby girl in the backseat, and I wanted to cry!!! I can't imagine if I'd had to go back to work this past Monday, as my 6 weeks of maternity leave are up, I would be a basket case. I couldn't ask for better babsitters than my family, except for Kurt's, but it still broke my heart to watch my baby girl drive off without me!!! Maybe I can consider this preparation for college someday?? Now I have to try and enjoy myself for the next 6 hours without my baby, who would've thought that would be soo hard. It's funny at times when I'm home with her and she won't nap and I can't get anything done I wish for my mom to come over and take care for a bit so I can shower or clean or do whatever but right now I could do all that stuff because she's not here it just feels wrong. Maybe I'll have to do more hunting for a way to stay home with her so I won't have leave, although I'm sure as are little family starts to grow I'll be begging for days like today!!! Oh well, it's date night I better make the most of it, who knows when I'll get another!!!!

Monday night we had Auntie Kat babysit for Piper while daddy and I went to get baby girl a swing. She's only been in it twice but so far she seems to be enjoying it. I was a little nervous that she wouldn't like it because we have a vibrating bouncy seat and she doesn't like that very much, especially when it vibrates. Last night she was in her swing before bed and she was talking to the birds. If you listen closely near the very beginning it sounds like she says "hi". One of these days I'm going to get her on video saying hi so that it's easier to hear, she says "hi" all the time, I know I'm bragging but I'm very proud of her barely 6 weeks old and already saying her "first word". Way to go Piper, you're a very smart little girl!!!!

Tell mommy a story!!!

The past 2 weeks or so my baby girl has started jabbering, she even makes a sound that kinda sounds like she is saying "hi", hopefully I can get her on video saying that one of these days!!! This sweet little jabbering totally makes up for waking me up in the middle of the night to be fed, she smiles and jabbers back when you talk to her!!!! I making sure I enjoy this now before she starts talking back with attitude!!!! (not her best jabbering, this was during mid-morning snack, she was waiting for me to give her back her bottle)

A month old already!!!! Say it isn't soo!!!

Yesterday my baby girl was 1 month old!!! My how the time has flown by!!! She had almost grown out of all of her newborn clothes and is graduating into 0-3 months, she is awake now for longer periods of time and we have begun to jabber. She has the cute little cry that sounds like she says "hi" and on Thursday morning when I was getting her ready I swear she said "hi dad". Her colic has gotten alot better and now we just have a little fussy time at night after dinner. We have started a bedtime routine and I'm hoping this helps her to start to sleep longer at night. For the most part she is sleeping about 4-5 hours at a time and this momma is loving it!!!! Well this is the end of the blog post because the princess is fussy which means momma's gotta go get her!!!
