Piper's 1st Birthday

Last Friday was Piper's 1st birthday!! I was pretty excited up until the day before it actually arrived. I couldn't help but think about how fast this past year has gone, we went from anxiously awaiting her arrival to celebrating her 1st birthday in the blink of an eye. Last year Piper was born on a Thursday so all day the 24th I couldn't help but think about the events of the year before!! It was soo bittersweet. Our girl is walking, talking and apparently has quite the temper!!! (I have no idea where she gets that from?!) She now says dada, momma, go, kitty, uh-oh, poppa, see, this, here, mum-mum (think could be gramma), one day she even told me NO, I know there's more because she's never stops talking but at 10pm at night after being up in the middle of the night last night I can' t remember. Tomorrow she goes for 12 month check-up, looking forward to seeing how big she's gotten but not the shots. I finally got her sleeping through the night again and now it will probably be a restless weekend!! Although the 1st of many more to come as we work towards taking away the bottle!!! I've kind of taken away her morning one but I've had to wake her up to leave for the sitters the last couple of days and it's made for one cranky Piper!!! Well this momma is headed to bed and maybe I can find the time to update a little sooner than 4 months from now!!!! (p.s. I put off going to bed a 1/2 hour ago just to update this and facebook for you Krista, so you better leave a stinkin' comment or I may be forced to delete the blog!! hehe)

The 3rd best sound in the world!!

This morning Piper and I were out in the kitchen and all of sudden she goes "momma"!!! I couldn't believe it, I was overwhelmed with tears, it just melted my heart!!! The only other sound that was better was when she cried for the 1st time the day she was born and the day I made her laugh out loud for the 1st time!!!! My sweet baby girl is growing soo fast, next week she will be 8 months old! She is crawling, walks holding your fingers, feeds herself, says momma, dada and uh oh!! She is just the most amazing little girl and I am just soo blessed to be her mom and despite not sleeping for 10 days while we fought off this nasty virus, there is nothing else I would rather be doing or love as much as being a mother!!!

This spring Kurt and his dad Ed decided to plant pumpkins in our garden, so this year for her 1st Halloween Piper had her very own home grown pumpkin!! We ended up with about 20 pumpkins, give or take. We invited grammie Jill and poppi Bill over when we carved Piper's 1st jack o' latern. Kurt did a great job and Piper had a good time watching him and loved playing in the pumpkin guts!!! Now her pumpkin is sitting on our front porch and hopefully one of these nights we will remember to light the darn thing again!!! Happy 1st Halloween Piper Joyce!!!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

I know I'm way behind on the updating, we've been soo busy with work, Piper turning 6 months old and Kurt turning 30!! Piper weighs 18lbs 30z and is 26 3/4 inches long. She keeps us laughing and smiling all the time, and as you can see we will now be a family of movers and shakers!!! Time to buy some baby gates, although daddy says he's going to make them, by the time he gets them done Piper will be 18 and they will no longer be needed!!! (hehe)
