Finally a scheduled appointment!!

On Tuesday, October 22nd, Kurt, my mom and I went for my scheduled ultrasound.  We were so excited for another chance to see the babies.  The ultrasound was a pre-screening to check the babies for Down's Syndrome.  The babies didn't show any markers in the ultrasound, not that it matters they are my babies and I love them anyway!!  But I am glad to know that things are looking good and that baby A and baby B are healthy and developing normally.  The babies were very wiggly and it took the ultrasound tech quite a few minutes to get a good picture of them!!  The babies are measuring at about 12 weeks 2 days, which means on Sunday they will be 13 weeks!!  We got back to the dr in 2 weeks for a regular appointment and probably every 2 weeks after that, with the possibility of ultrasounds once a month.  I'm relieved to know that the doctors will be keeping a close eye on me and the babies!  Here are our 4th set of ultrasound pictures of baby A and baby B!

Another scare!!

On Wednesday, September 17th, I woke up to pee and get ready for work and to my horror, there was a small streak of blood!  Of course I went from perfectly calm to crazy, raving lunatic in 2 seconds.  So after waiting almost 3 hours for my doctor's office to open, the nurse on the phone assured me that everything would be fine and to come in at 1 pm!  Yeah! just  what I wanted to hear more waiting!  Well after spending the whole morning on pins and needles waiting for my appointment, the ultrasound showed the best thing, 2 tiny, wiggling babies, with very strong heartbeats!  They couldn't find a reason for the spotting and the babies are fine, I swear I'm going to have gray hair by the time they arrive!  The  only perk for having the crap scared out of me yet again was another beautiful sonogram picture of Baby A and Baby B!!

Not sure what's happening in there?!

On Thursday, September 27th, we headed back to the drs. for an unexpected trip, because I had no idea what the weird, contraction like spasms were that were happening to my stomach.  The pregnancy has already been so different from my first and I think the fact that there are 2 babies in there is kind of freaking me out!  After our 2nd ultrasound confirmed that in fact both babies were still there, wiggling around and had good, strong heartbeats, that we got to hear out loud, we could breathe a little easier!  This time we could see little tiny heads and bodies!  The fact that we were going to have 2 babies is starting to sink in a little more!  After the ultrasound the dr. told me that it was good that I called and it's ok to be paranoid and that everything look good and everything was fine.  The slightly bitchy nurse however was not as nice and told me  it was probably just my ligaments stretching and that I was going to get BIG, FAST!  Thank you very much!
Here are baby A and baby B's second round of photos!

...And much to our surprise!

After a fairly difficult winter/spring and early summer, we were overjoyed to find out at the end of August we were pregnant!  Just goes to show those doctors don't know as much as they think they do.  On September 12th we had our first doctors appointment.  Much to relief they sonogram confirmed I was indeed pregnant and much to our surprise and shock, we were having TWINS!!!  This is our first peek at our new little bundles, affectionately called baby A and baby B!

Yes, I'm a sLacKer

                                                                                 Spicy Betsy
                                                                                Marvin
Bam-Bam on the left and Ligtening on the right
The chickens, one of them laid the 1st egg tonight
Wow, I know I've been a slacker with the blog updates but I didn't realize it had been a year!  I blame Facebook, they just make it way too easy to update your life and post pictures.  Let's see Piper is 2 1/2 and has grown 3 1/2 inches since her birthday in March, I'm scared that the pediatrician is underestimating just how tall Piper may be one day!  We have an Old MacDonald farm complete with chickens, rabbits, a giant pig, and 3 baby calves that we've named Lightening, Marvin and  Bam-Bam.  I'm working with miss Piper, also known as Spicy Betsy, with her potty training,  it's a slow process but we're getting there!  Um, what else, work keeps me soo busy, but I love it most of the time, finally found an amazing assistant but right now she's helping in our newly opened infant room.  Oh yeah and my Spicy Betsy has become quite the little fish, a couple of weeks ago she even braved the water "by herself" so do some "swimming"!  Can't believe how fast she is growing and what a big girl she is becoming!!!

About Me

Kurt and I met a little over 4 years ago at a bar in Sherrill. I thought Kurt was soo cute. We started talking, he asked for my phone number, and we have been together ever since. Kurt and I were married on June 28, 2008. The wedding was beautiful despite the lose of power and the possibility of not having a reception. Luckily for us, everything went perfectly and we had the best day ever and all of our family and friends were there to share this special day with us.
