The past 2 weeks or so my baby girl has started jabbering, she even makes a sound that kinda sounds like she is saying "hi", hopefully I can get her on video saying that one of these days!!! This sweet little jabbering totally makes up for waking me up in the middle of the night to be fed, she smiles and jabbers back when you talk to her!!!! I making sure I enjoy this now before she starts talking back with attitude!!!! (not her best jabbering, this was during mid-morning snack, she was waiting for me to give her back her bottle)

A month old already!!!! Say it isn't soo!!!
Yesterday my baby girl was 1 month old!!! My how the time has flown by!!! She had almost grown out of all of her newborn clothes and is graduating into 0-3 months, she is awake now for longer periods of time and we have begun to jabber. She has the cute little cry that sounds like she says "hi" and on Thursday morning when I was getting her ready I swear she said "hi dad". Her colic has gotten alot better and now we just have a little fussy time at night after dinner. We have started a bedtime routine and I'm hoping this helps her to start to sleep longer at night. For the most part she is sleeping about 4-5 hours at a time and this momma is loving it!!!! Well this is the end of the blog post because the princess is fussy which means momma's gotta go get her!!!
Looking so cute in the bonnet that grammie got her!!!

Sleeping Beauty!!
Last night was the most amazing night!!!!! I spent the day up at my mom's and then we stayed for dinner. Piper slept at grammies from like 3:30 until almost 8 and then she kind of woke up so I gave her dinner, tried to get her burp (not an easy task), got in ready for bed and then passed her off to her poppi, who passed her onto her daddy, which lead to the famous crying and screaming we've come to love!!! But not to worry grammie to the rescue (both Piper's and daddy's). We spent the next 2 hours playing pass and comfort the crying baby. Finally at almost 10:30 I decided I probaby better bundle up my cranky princess and take her home!!! Luckily for her daddy and I the crying stopped soon after the truck started moving and we got to ride home in golden silence. Upon arriving home I made the decision not to disturb our sleeping beauty so I unbuttoned her snowsuit and unhooked her carseat harness and left her sleeping in her car seat on the floor next to our bed figuring it's only a matter of time before she awakens and demands to be fed. At 12:30am I decided I was foolish for laying in bed waiting for her to wake up and gave into the sleep. At 2:22 am I woke up again, listened for the baby snores, figured she's fine, she can't be that hungry if she hasn't woken up yet, repeat at 4:10am, 5:19am and finally at 7:09am I thought she might be feeling a little cramped in the carseat, so I picked her up, took her arms out of her snowsuit, changed her diaper and was greeted by the baby smiles I love so much and have been enjoying a very peaceful morning!!!!! Not sure if it was the snuggly warm of being a little closer the heater and having the snowsuit still around her and blanket over her lap or if it was the car ride home but I'm thinking I need to figure out this magic combination so it can be repeated nightly!!!!! (sorry no actual pictures of my sleeping beauty, didn't want to disturb our princess!!!)

3 weeks, really it's only been 3 weeks!!!!
3 weeks ago today our baby girl was born, WOW, how the time is flying!!!! This is me holding Piper after she was born, it was the best feeling on Earth. Since that Thursday we have had quite the roller coaster ride. After bringing her home we had to take her back to the hospital because of jaundice and she had to stay over night on the billi lights. Possibly the worst feeling I've had as a mommy so far. I didn't realize how incredibly heartbreaking it could be to have to put your child in the hospital for something you have no control over. I'm so glad that it was just a 24 hour stay and that Kurt and I got to spend the night with her. I can't imagine how my mom, mother-in-law and my dear friend Krista felt to have to leave the tiny babies at the hospital each night and go home. You have to be the strongest women I know, I could barely hold it together for 24 hours!!!! Love you girls!!! Now that Piper is home and doing great we have on to another fun new problem, Colic!!!! It's amazing how hours of screaming and crying can bring such a range of emotions!!! I have spent quite a few days walking, rocking and jiggling Piper to try to soothe her and at the same time many of those times I was crying too!!! It's amazing how you can feel so bad for the pain and discomfort that she is feeling and at the same time be so frustrated and annoyed as it heads into the 2nd or even 3rd hour of almost nonstop crying!!! We are now giving Piper Enfamil Nutramigen formula to try to help with the colic, today we be our 2nd full day on the new formula so I am anxious to see if things start to change and get a little better. The colic isn't slowing down her eating any though at her 2 week check up last week she was already up to 8lb 4oz and 21 inches long and she continues to chug 4oz of formula at every feeding. I am anxious and a little nervous to see how much she's grown next month at her 2 month check up!!!!
Other than those sweet baby smiles that she mostly saves for her daddy, my next favorite thing that Piper has accomplished is the sucking of the thumb!!!! She found her thumb that day after she was born and will pop it in whenever she can find it, although she kind of takes a binky I'm thinking that once we become a little more coordinated with the thumb the binky will be history!!! Well that's all for today hoping to finish my coffee and maybe squeeze in a nap before the princess awakens!!!

Introducing Piper Joyce Krawiec
On Thursday morning, March 25th at 6:50 am my water broke!!! After making the phone call to let everyone know it was finally time, I decided to make breakfast, double check my hospital bag, the diaper bag, take a shower, shave my legs, and finally call the dr. to let them know that my water broke but I wasn't having any contractions!! The nurse informed me that we should head immediately to the hospital, after some procrastinating we finally left at 9:30am to head to Oneida, to the hospital. I was admitted and the dr. came to check me at 11:15 or so, 3cm dilated, still no contractions!!! You know what that means, yup Pitocin!!! Not sure if I loved it or hated it. By 12:00 the contractions were fully underway but nothing I couldn't handle (yes, I was being tough)!!! The I decided I had to pee, big mistake, now things were getting unpleasant, soon after I informed Kurt, my mom and the nurse I would like a little something for the pain. After being checked and told I was at almost 5cm, I was given Stadol. I waited for the relief, which I thought I never felt, according to Kurt though I should have seen the monitor!!!! I guess there was relief!!!! By 2pm I was at almost 6cm and needed something stronger, bring on the deromorph!!!!! (which I had to wait til 4pm before I finally got!!!) This was relief, there was intense pressure but relief!!! By 5:15 or so the dr. had come in, informed me it was time to push, THANK GOD, and at 5:40 pm Piper Joyce entered this world and boy was she pissed off!!!!!
This is at about 6:30 or so, I was moved to my postpartum room and finally got to hold my baby girl!!! Yes, I'm still feeling good from the drugs which I was told would last almost 24 hrs., think they lasted about 12 or so.
Unfortunately my little girl is a bit stubborn and we had some trouble breastfeeding. On Monday morning we had to have her blood drawn again to test her billiribum levels. We were told they were a little high and that Piper had to be admitted to the hospital and put under these special lights to help her levels come down. She really didn't seem to mind that much and looked a little like she was at the beach. It was soo scary for Kurt and I but we are thankful she is back home and doing great. She has really started eating and has already gained back 3oz. We've had decided not to breastfeed and are giving her formula so that we can more closely monitor how much she is eating, she is doing better and better every day and we are looking forward to her 1st holiday this weekend!!!! Happy Easter!!!!!

About Me
- Kurt & Kristi
- Kurt and I met a little over 4 years ago at a bar in Sherrill. I thought Kurt was soo cute. We started talking, he asked for my phone number, and we have been together ever since. Kurt and I were married on June 28, 2008. The wedding was beautiful despite the lose of power and the possibility of not having a reception. Luckily for us, everything went perfectly and we had the best day ever and all of our family and friends were there to share this special day with us.
